Environmental Defense Fund
Environmental Defense Fund is a leading national non-profit organization representing more than 750,000 members. Since 1967, we have linked science, economics, and law to create innovative, equitable and cost-effective solutions to society’s most urgent environmental problems. Environmental Defense Fund is dedicated to protecting the environmental rights of all people, including future generations. Among these rights are clean air and water, healthy and nourishing food, and a flourishing ecosystem. Guided by science, Environmental Defense Fund evaluates environmental problems and works to create and advocate solutions that win lasting political, economic, and social support. We evaluate problems and work to create and advocate for solutions that are non-partisan, cost-efficient, and fair.
Like EAT, EDF takes a multi-sector approach to food, sustainability and health. We partner with academic institutions and local NGOs to conduct scientific research on low-carbon agriculture in the U.S., China, India and Vietnam, and we engage with policymakers and business leaders on related policy. We work to advance sustainable fisheries in the U.S., Belize, Mexico and elsewhere. Our Seafood Selector promotes choices that are good for consumers and the ocean.
