H.E. Vidar Helgesen

Minister of Climate & Environment, Norway

Vidar Helgesen is a Norwegian diplomat and politician for the Conservative party.  He was appointed to his current role the 16th of December, 2015. During the period of 2013-2015 he worked as Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Erna Solberg.

From 2006 to 2013 he was the Secretary General of the Stockholm-based intergovernmental organisation, International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA).

Helgesen studied and trained as a lawyer.
